raccoons and ponytails

At long last, here is Jason-Alan's long-awaited sketch commission! Here we see his character Alicia, the raccoon girl, snuggled up and sharing a laugh with her best friend and significant other, Erik "Jonas" Quint. Jonas is meant to be androgynous, hence his effeminate appearance and hairstyle. But Alicia is unfazed by his outward appearance-- in fact she's quite smitten-- because she knows better than anyone who he truly is on the inside.

This commission, I will confess, gave me quite a bit of trouble. There wasn't very much reference available of either of these characters, and in the original request, the pose that had been proposed, after going through several re-draws, proved to be anatomically impossible. But in taking some artistic liberties, I was able to work around the request to find a way to bring these two lovebirds together, happy as can be~ I'm satisfied with the turnout now that it's finally completed!
